Kein Wort aus Zorn
Das die Stille durchbricht
Mit Asche in den Händen
Nun auch das Feuer erlischt
Das fahle Gesicht starrt augenlos
Ins letzte Licht
Keine Hoffnung, die Zeichen der neuen Welt
Sind längst verwischt
Wieder zieht es mich zu dir
Noch tiefer bis nach unten
Immer wieder erwacht in mir
Die Angst vor neuen Wunden
Und ich warte schon so lang
Auf dass diese Welt zerbricht
Der Morgen wird nicht kommen
Und wir erwachen in neuem Licht
Durch die Fluten der neuen Zeit
Reißt sich die Seele aus dem Leib
Verblasstes Leben, warum rennst du so weit
Am Ende brennen wir doch zu zweit
Alles was mir noch von dir übrig bleibt
Sind diese Bilder von den Schmerzen dieser Zeit
Verbrenn dein altes Leben, nichts was dich befreit
Dein letzter Atemzug - bist du bereit
Wieder zieht es mich zu dir
Noch tiefer bis nach unten
Immer wieder erwacht in mir
Die Angst vor neuen Wunden
Und ich warte schon so lang
Auf dass diese Welt zerbricht
Der Morgen wird nicht kommen
Und wir erwachen in neuem Licht

Two lenghty tracks that have the perfect black metal mid-paced motion, complemented beautifully by an infernal voice. The lyrics are so inspiring, empowering the mind to question and liberate itself of all dogmas and traditions that are so deeply written in our genes. A memorable release!

Thank you Chepe Kun for drawing my attention to this German atmospheric black metal/ambient done right! Pleasant, slow, a bit monochromatic, but with mesmerizing melodies from the underground! sachavonkarl74
Crushing blackened doom from this German band that counterbalances blinding fury with moments of surprising, melancholy melody. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 8, 2023
An outstanding slab of atmospheric black metal, “Sisyphus” cannily blends texture and terror for a gripping final product. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 7, 2021
Tokyo band contrast black metal's brutal complexity with shoegaze's abyssal grandeur, resulting in an LP that feels crushing, yet infinite. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 24, 2022

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
